    Description

Portable NIR Analyzer – Sciaps reveNIR – compact, powerful, and built with cutting-edge technology, the reveNIR analyzer ensures you have the precision and portability you need for accurate analysis in the field.

    Essential Tool for Mineral Exploration
The NEW SciAps handheld Vis-NIR (Near-infrared spectroscopy) analyzer is a game-changing portable instrument that delivers unmatched performance in mineral reconnaissance and exploration. Designed for geologists and exploration teams working in the most remote locations, the reveNIR offers precise and efficient mineralogical analysis in the field, enabling better decision-making and faster progress.

    Reflectance Spectra Analysis
The SciAps reveNIR records reflectance spectra to predict the mineral composition of samples, making it a critical tool for understanding geological formations and identifying pathfinder minerals.

    Spectral range – 350 to 2510 nm.
A basic mineral spectral library of 50 important exploration minerals is included to get started immediately.
Capability for user spectral additions and subtractions and converting publicly available USGS SpecLib 7a downloads from the internet.
Real time Spectral Scalars calculations of Al-OH, ISM (Illite Spectral Maturity), Mg-OH, and Fe3t which indicate crystallinity, composition and/or geothermal conditions that serve as additional vectors to potential mineralization.

    Applications

Early-Stage Reconnaissance: analyze surface samples, dig around outcroppings, and assess rock formations in areas ithout easy access. The SciAps reveNIR provides critical insights to determine if further exploration is worthwhile.

Core Logging and Drill Guidance: identify alteration minerals and pathfinder minerals in drill core samples to direct drilling operations effectively and maximize resource extraction.

Exploration Mapping: expand the understanding of geological formations by measuring multiple positions on outcrops and assessing mineralogical changes across the landscape.

Geologists rely on Vis-NIR to detect minerals that indicate proximity to ore bodies. These include clays, alteration minerals, and other pathfinder minerals that help vector drilling operations towards valuable resources.

The SciAps reveNIR’s Vis-NIR technology provides accurate, real-time data on:

    • Epidote
    • Calcite
    • Chlorite
    • Kaolinite
    • Halloysite
    • Montmorillonite
    • Muscovite
    • Illite
    • Smectites
    • Dickite
    • Hematite
    • Goethite
    • Rectorite
    • Rare Earth Oxides

Unlike XRF, which is primarily used to track elemental ore grade, especially metals concentration, the reveNIR excels at identifying chemically complex minerals critical for exploration. This complementary use of technologies ensures comprehensive data for decision-making.
